Express Yourself: Now add photos to your Wishes & Experiences!

We are happy to announce that starting today - you can now express your wishes & experiences with your own pictures.

 One of the most requested features by our users - ability to add own photos to their wishlist & experiences. The feature is now open to all, just click on any wish or review, you will notice the Edit option on its top.

You can add/edit the text & images on your wish or review within minutes. For images, Wishberg now allows you to upload images from your computer or locate images from any URL submitted. 

Go ahead and express your wishes & experiences in your own pictures. Start Now.

Productizing Jugaad: Introducing Shop Mobs on Wishberg!

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Shop Mobs go live today on Wishberg.

Shop Mobs are meetups with people in your city who share similar wishes with you and can buy with you. Catchup with them - discuss together, negotiate together with the brand and save all that you want to buy through collective buying power.

Where do they go Live:
Currently for Mumbai (Mumbai, Thane & Navi Mumbai) and Bangalore. They are programmed in a way to open for all cities when the number of users from any particular city will reach a threshold number that varies for every city. On reaching that number, shop mobs will be unlocked.

Does Wishberg make any money here? Do you get brands to meet us:
We would have loved to, but unfortunately no.

We don’t want our interests to come in between your wishes. We don’t want to take away the joy (yes!) of negotiating from you and moreover we really think you can really negotiate much better than we can and in return keep all the savings by avoiding paying any commissions / transaction money to us.

For us, Wishberg is a opportunity to extend online engagement to offline and not monetizing. We look at Shop Mobs as a way for users to discover and meet awesome people with a purpose of buying together. 

Why Shop Mobs:

1. Connecting with others online over a context and meeting offline to fulfill that has become a norm in Social Media. Wishberg already lets users discover friends and followers with similar intents and now enables its users to meet up through Shop Mob with context of fulfilling the wishes. 
2. We were inspired by Cash Mobs (in US) and Tuangou (in China). Another inspiration - few years back in India, few people got together in Aurangabad & Kolhapur to buy multiples cars in one go - 150 Mercedes Benz cars; 101 BMWs and another 180 Mercedes Benz cars. 
3. Group buying has been happening in India for certain categories and is also popular within traditional business communities; Wishberg has built that in to a product and made it available to all its users. We want to bring that power to connect with prospective buyers to everyone.

How does one join / create a Shop Mob:

• Joining Shop Mob is 1-click process. Explore Shop Mobs that are on-going running in a city.
• Creating Shop Mobs is simple 2 step process - Selecting a wish you want to do a Shop Mob and adding meet up details.

Is there any catch in Shop Mobs:
None., we have tried to be as transparent as possible with this.

However, we want you to know the following: 

• You can create Shop Mob only for something you have wished for.
• You need at least two followers wishing for same to start a Shop Mob. (But you can join any existing Shop Mob in your city without having any follower wishing for it).
• Shop Mobs are time bound events that expire after Meet up.
• Shop Mobs are (initially) limited to groups of 5, 10 and 15.

Introducing Notifications on Wishberg!

We are announcing Notifications on Wishberg today! 

Now stay updated in real-time with interactions on your wishes, experiences and reviews shared. We started rolling out this feature from Feb 20, 2013 in batches and now the functionality is available to all users on Wishberg.

The notifications appear on your profile header across the site when you are logged in. Users will be notified of actions including Like, Comment, Stealing of Wish, Review Requests and also Thanks for Experiences shared. Here is a preview of the feature -

Introducing Bucket List on Wishberg!

For starters, Bucket List is the list of all the things you want to do in life, experiences you want to complete, dreams you have to live and adventures you want to try before one dies.

We heard from lot of our users that they wanted one place to share their personal Bucket List and also keep it updated as they complete those items and share their experiences and reviews with others. Taking that feedback, we’re glad to announce introduction of Bucket List on Wishberg.

To give you a glimpse of Bucket List, its divided into 7 categories. Share some examples of what you can expect here - 

• Adventure Sports: 
  Examples include Bungee Jumping, Hot Air Ballooning  Para Sailing, Under Sea Walk, Rappelling & many many more.

Adding Wishes & Experiences is now simpler with Sort by Brand

Another quick product update from Team Wishberg.

Many users shared their feedback (actually complained to us) how difficult it was adding new wishes and experiences from the catalog for two reasons - 1) the products were shown alphabetically and 2) the page had infinite scroll.

We would imagine how difficult that was if you wanted to add your favorite Volvo car to your wish / experience which would be at the bottom of the page. We have made it very simple now - with Sort by Brand feature. Now choose products from your favorite brands at one click.

This feature appears while adding wishes / experiences for 3 categories - Bikes, Cars & Gadgets. Login to your Wishberg account and give it a spin.

That is not all, we are also working on multiple updates to help making discovery of products easier on Wishberg and also improving your user experience. More on that soon :)

Introducing Profile Snapshots

Small update - Introducing Profile Snapshots.

While browsing through Wishberg, there are times when you stumble upon an interesting photo, comment, review and want to quickly check who the user is - now simply roll-over your mouse on the name of user an get a Profile Snapshot.

The profile snapshot lets you also follow the user - another great way to discover more people on Wishberg.

Now invite your 25 closest friends to Wishberg!

Few people wrote to us asking why we removed the option to ‘Sign-up via Email Address’ post our public beta and now allow users only to register through Facebook.

Answer - Wishberg is a social platform to share / discover wishes, experiences and reviews with your friends and followers. When users signed up via email, we noticed they found Wishberg a bit boring (it was like playing a awesome game like Farmville alone).

We still get feedback from users asking to reintroduce the email address signup feature. Here is what we have done, starting today - all existing users of Wishberg now have option to invite 25 users by email address.
